“Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and enkindle in them the fire of your love.”  Roman Missal, Pentecost Sequence

Lord, we thank you for the start of the new term, for all the ways we will learn and grow.  We ask that the Holy Spirit opens our minds to understand what is good and true and to fill us with the wisdom and joy of your Spirit.  May everything we do be a sign of your Holy Spirit’s presence among us.  We make this prayer to you through Christ our Lord.  Amen.

Good News/PB4L (Positive Behaviour for Learning)

We follow Jesus through showing a positive Attitude, Behaviour and Care and our 3 R’s.

This fortnights focus is to:  Sit while you wait after school and during eating time and hands up when you have finished eating.  Use pathways when walking.

We would like to congratulate the following children who have been recognised at assembly:
Respect for Self :
Respect for Others :  Ryan Massey, Lilly Grace Massey, Michael McGinty
Respect for Environment :

At the three way interview which were at the end of Term 1, most parents of senior school students (Year 4 to 6) signed a blanket permission to allow their child to travel to local venues.  This term it will include Choir, Soccer, Rugby, Netball and Hockey.
We will still send letters home for transport when necessary eg Soccer and Hockey.  Please see calendar of events at the beginning of the newsletter.  If you have not returned your permission slip, please do so to the office or phone the office and give verbal permission.

Term 2 Basketball will start in week 3 with the first game being on Thursday 17th May.  Venue to be confirmed as Pakuranga College gym has been damaged by flooding.  Please ensure you have paid your $50 fee to confirm your place in the team.

If your child is in the Choir, please ensure that they are at school promptly tomorrow morning as the bus will be departing at 8:45 to take them to Elm Park Primary.  Please ensure your child has returned their ‘Blanket Permission’ form directly to the office by 8:30am if they have not done so already.  Thank you.

As per our PB4L lesson for this week, please ensure your child/ren remain seated in the pick up zone outside the front of the school until you are ready to leave.  We have noticed a lot of children are wandering or running around while parents and caregivers catch up with friends after school.  Please ensure your child/ren remain seated for their safety until you are ready to depart.  Thank you for your support and keeping your children safe.

Please ensure you follow the carpark rules and cross rules.  We have had several instances of poor behaviour in the carpark recently.  Please help us keep our children safe.

Due to many students having allergies in our school and due the the new health and safety regulations, we are no longer able to allow cake/sweets/pizzas to come into the school for student’s birthday celebrations.  We will celebrate your child’s birthday individually as per each classes routine.

Please phone or text the school office (027 9630 100) if your child is not attending school.  Please state a reason for your child’s absence or your child is automatically marked as Unjustified absence which means that after several Unjustified absences the school and the Ministry of Education Truant Officer will call at your house.  To help your child grow and learn please make sure they are at school unless their is a Justified reason for them not to attend that day.
