PRAYER
Lord, we thank you for the start of the new term, for all the ways we will learn and grow. We ask that the Holy Spirit opens our minds to understand what is good and true and to fill us with the wisdom and joy of your Spirit. May everything we do be a sign of your Holy Spirit’s presence among us. We make this prayer to you through Christ our Lord. Amen.

SENIOR SCHOOL OUTINGS/SPORTS TERM 2
At the three way interview which were at the end of Term 1, most parents of senior school students (Year 4 to 6) signed a blanket permission to allow their child to travel to local venues. This term it will include Choir, Soccer, Rugby, Netball and Hockey.
We will still send letters home for transport when necessary eg Soccer and Hockey. Please see calendar of events at the beginning of the newsletter. If you have not returned your permission slip, please do so to the office or phone the office and give verbal permission.
BASKETBALL
Term 2 Basketball will start in week 3 with the first game being on Thursday 17th May. Venue to be confirmed as Pakuranga College gym has been damaged by flooding. Please ensure you have paid your $50 fee to confirm your place in the team.
CHOIR
If your child is in the Choir, please ensure that they are at school promptly tomorrow morning as the bus will be departing at 8:45 to take them to Elm Park Primary. Please ensure your child has returned their ‘Blanket Permission’ form directly to the office by 8:30am if they have not done so already. Thank you.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
As per our PB4L lesson for this week, please ensure your child/ren remain seated in the pick up zone outside the front of the school until you are ready to leave. We have noticed a lot of children are wandering or running around while parents and caregivers catch up with friends after school. Please ensure your child/ren remain seated for their safety until you are ready to depart. Thank you for your support and keeping your children safe.
Please ensure you follow the carpark rules and cross rules. We have had several instances of poor behaviour in the carpark recently. Please help us keep our children safe.
Due to many students having allergies in our school and due the the new health and safety regulations, we are no longer able to allow cake/sweets/pizzas to come into the school for student’s birthday celebrations. We will celebrate your child’s birthday individually as per each classes routine.
