IMMIGRATION:

Full details of visa and permit requirements, advice on rights to employment in New Zealand while studying, and reporting requirements are available through the New Zealand Immigration Service, and can be viewed on their website at http://immigration.govt.nz

ELIGIBILITY FOR HEALTH SERVICES:

Most international students are not entitled to publicly funded health services while in New Zealand. If you receive medical treatment during your visit, you may be liable for the full costs of that treatment. Full details on entitlements to publicly funded health services are available through the Ministry of Health, and can be viewed on their website at http://www.moh.govt.nz

ACCIDENT INSURANCE:

The Accident Compensation Commission provides accident insurance for all New Zealand citizens, residents and temporary visitors to New Zealand, but you may still be liable for all other medical and related costs. Further information can be viewed on the ACC website at http://acc.co.nz

MEDICAL AND TRAVEL INSURANCE:

International students must have appropriate and current medical and travel insurance while studying in New Zealand.

THE PROCESS OF ENTRY INTO ST MARK’S SCHOOL FOR FAMILY AND WHANAU:
A) Contact the school and advise of what dates you would like to study at St Mark’s
B) Complete the St Mark’s Application for Enrolment Form
C) Complete the International Student Enrolment Form
D) Have the ‘Preference Certificate’ completed and signed by a Catholic Priest (if the
child is a Catholic)
E) Provide copy of Baptismal Certificate (if the child is Catholic)
F) Provide evidence of a New Zealand Health Insurance cover.
G) Provide evidence of an Immunisation Certificate of the student to be enrolled
H) Come into the school (where possible) and meet with Mrs Kerrie Hunt (PA/School
Secretary) and/or Mrs Rivers (Principal).
I) If points B to G are approved by the Principal a further set of school documents will
be given to you for further completion.
J) Offer or decline of a place
K) Acceptance and Fees
L) On receipt of the acceptance and full fees being paid, the school will send you a
confirmation letter which is required for you to apply for a student visa.
M) On presentation of your Visa your enrolment is complete and a starting date will be
confirmed.
